The Lego League

The Lego League meets every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the library. The League is currently made up of 4th and 5th grade boys who are passionate about Legos. You may be wondering what the connection is between Legos and books. Promoting play increases attention span, memory, creativity and language and vocabulary skills. It lays the foundation for logical mathematical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem solving. Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) are critical learning areas for our future workforce! And as any teacher can tell you, tactile and kinesthetic learning increase student understanding. Be watching for more information about this program as well as some upcoming Lego groups including our Junior League and our Lego Robotics Club for middle school students.
