Crime and Punishment

This series will allow readers to see through the eyes of prosecutors, chaplains, victims, townspeople, and especially the accursed criminals themselves.  An exploration of these multiple points of view will help readers confront the controversial issues of crime and punishment.

We will begin on Jan. 27th with an introduction to the series led by Dr. Andrew Vassar. Monthly discussions will begin on Feb. 10 and be held the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs room of the library.  Books will be available to pick up at the front desk about a month before first program begins.

Jan. 27     Introduction to the Series

Andrew Vassar will be introducing the series with some readings and discussion from Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment. The book is available in eBook and downloadable audio as well as for checkout if you wish to read it in its entirety.

If you are not able to participate in the discussions but are interested in reading the books, we will be happy to order them for you through interlibrary loan.  Ask at the front desk for more information.
