The Miami Public Library has been serving Miami, Oklahoma, and the surrounding area since 1921. Our mission is to entertain, inspire, encourage learning, and foster connections that enhance our community.
Anyone residing, working, or attending school in Ottawa County can be issued a free library card, valid for three years. If you live outside of Ottawa County, there is a $20.00 yearly fee.
To apply for a library card:
Applicants must present a driver's license or government-issued photo ID card with their current address at the time of application.
Provide proof of residency such as a mail, bill, or check stating name and address.
For individuals employed in Ottawa County but living elsewhere, a recent pay stub displaying the employer and address is required. Students can show a school ID or a current class schedule. If no proof of residency is available to you, a library postcard may be mailed to applicants who have insufficient identification; the presentation of the postcard will be considered proof of address.
