What is a “beach read” anyway? This ubiquitous term has been around since the ’90s and is often used to describe a book without a heavy theme, that is enjoyable and easy to read. While it can be a thriller or a tearjerker, it should never require serious thinking. And, of course, beach reads are usually associated with summer vacations. However you define it, any of the books below would be enjoyable reads on the beach or in your favorite reading chair.
