Can You Walk the Route?
On January 26, 2015, 18 intrepid leaders stepped up to lead 18 teams to virtually walk Route 66. Each team leader was given pedometers and record sheets for their team members. Every week, team members report the total miles they walked the previous week. Team leaders add up all the miles for their team and report it to the library. The library keeps track of where each team is on Route 66 and reports back to team leaders the top three teams for the week. The team walking the most miles (averaged per team member) for the month receives a prize. The first month, Donna Hale’s NEO Women and Friends team won gift sacks from the Miami Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
As of March 1, our 282 participants have walked a total of 17,555 miles.
